Singhara atta is derived from water-chestnut. This is the underground storage bulb, of the
water chestnut plant. It is actually a form of starch
Water chestnut flour is prepared from dried, ground water chestnuts. Water chestnuts do
not contain gluten. The best part is that it can be dried and milled as a grain substitute for
people who are allergic to gluten. Singhara atta is used as a thickening agent while cooking.
Chestnuts provide high levels of dietary fiber, minerals, ‘good’ fats, vitamins, nutrients,
